RepTrak Survey

Irish shoppers have voted Aldi as the most sustainable supermarket in Ireland according to the Ireland Sustainability RepTrak ® Index 2021. The annual Ireland Sustainability RepTrak ® Index focuses on the sustainability segment of the Ireland RepTrak  2021 survey, a study of 100 of the largest, most important and most visible organisations in the country. In 2021, Aldi achieved an “Excellent” reputation rating in the RepTrak  survey, gaining the title of Ireland’s most reputable supermarket. The Index rates Ireland’s top performing organisations across key Sustainability dimensions – Governance, Workplace, and Citizenship – three dimensions across which Aldi has scored consistently well.


  • Aldi Ireland are delighted to receive the Business Working Responsibly Mark in 2020. Achieving this independently audited mark recognises and validates our commitment to social, environmental and ethical improvement


  • Emphasising its commitment to sustainable practices, Aldi has signed up to the Origin Green sustainability charter. Aldi have developed a comprehensive plan that sets out health, social, waste and energy targets.

Pakman Awards

The Pakman Awards are the national environmental awards that recognise recycling and waste management among businesses, organisations, community groups and individuals in Ireland. In 2021, Aldi were awarded the title of Plastic Pledge Gold Winner at the 2021 Pakman Awards, in recognition of its work in reducing plastic and packaging waste in their products and stores.

 

The Sustainable Business Impact Award 2021

Aldi has won the Environment Award at the 2021 Chambers Ireland Sustainable Business Impact Awards in recognition of its work to significantly reduce plastic and packaging across its products and stores. Aldi has also won the Partnership with Charity award in recognition of its work in combating food wastage and food poverty through its long-term partnership with FoodCloud.

 

Business Energy Achievement Awards

Aldi has been awarded the Overall Energy Achievement Award, the top award at the 2021 Business Energy Achievement Awards, in recognition of its approach to using sustainable energy, energy reduction and reducing carbon emissions. In addition, Aldi has also been awarded the Best Energy Achievement in Retail. The Business Energy Achievement Awards recognise excellence and achievements from organisations which demonstrate effective sustainable energy initiatives.

 

Green Awards

The Green Awards are a leading platform for sustainability intelligence, leadership and innovation in best green practice in Ireland. In 2020, Aldi won ‘The Green Retailer Award’ for our commitment to sustainability initiatives in packaging and waste reduction, carbon reduction, biodiversity and staff training and awareness.
