Syrup and sugar-coated grapes for treats or cake decorations.
200g Granulated Sugar
60ml Water
350g Red Grapes
75g Caster Sugar
Place the granulated sugar into a saucepan along with the water and place on a medium heat.
Do not stir the sugar but carefully move the pan to help the sugar dissolve.
Cook for 10-15 minutes until the sugar has dissolved.
Remove the syrup from the heat.
Cut the grapes into small bunches.
Cover over a tray with baking paper and sprinkle over half of the caster sugar.
Carefully add the grapes into the sugar syrup and coat well.
When the grapes are fully coated use a slotted spoon to remove them, and any excess syrup, and place them on the lined tray.
Sprinkle the remaining caster sugar over the grapes and leave for 1-2 hours to dry.
Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
When ready to serve enjoy them as a treat or use to decorate cakes.
