No, we have good product availability. We receive deliveries into stores, 7 days a week. Stock is ordered on a Monday evening and this stock is on shelf by Wednesday morning (36 hours later).Close

What are you doing to encourage social distancing in your stores?
Following government advice regarding social distancing, the following safety measures have been put in place across all 145 stores:
- In line with Government legislation, all staff and customers are required to wear face coverings when in store (exceptions for medical conditions)
- Our Colleagues in store encourage the wearing of facemasks and we have signage through-out the store encouraging all customers to follow the Government legislation
- Clear markings to show the 2m distance customers must maintain when queuing at checkouts.
- A traffic light system is in place by continuously counting the number of customers entering and exiting the store, showing a green light for capacity and a red light when capacity has been reached.
- Clear markers show the space customers must maintain when queuing to enter stores.
- Clear protective screens at every till.
- A self-service cleaning station upon entry to stores for cleaning both trolleys and baskets.
- Hand sanitiser for customers at the entrance and exit to stores.
- The transaction limit on contactless payments has been increased to up to €50.
- New queuing canopies across 21 of our stores to shelter customers from adverse weather conditions.
Are you implementing a one customer per family rule?
Where possible and in order to help with social distancing, we are encouraging all customers to try and reduce the number of family members they bring with them into our stores. We fully appreciate that this is not possible for all of our customers but we would encourage it, wherever possible.Close

Do you still plan to invest in physical stores?
Yes, our store expansion plans are unaffected by our rapid delivery service.
Aldi will open four new stores in the coming months at Dunshaughlin, Douglas, Newbridge and Bayside, with additional stores in Cahersiveen and Killarney to follow later this year.
Aldi has also submitted six new store planning applications in the past year, seeking permission to open new stores in Castlecomer, Roaches St. Limerick, Ballybrit, Ballyhaunis, Kanturk and Shannon.Close
Will you provide masks to colleagues if they [have to / want to] wear them?
Our store teams have been provided with protective gloves, facemasks and hand sanitiser. Our store staff are in compliance with our procedures, and those of the HSE, regarding the wearing of facemasks. The Government has also confirmed that staff working behind Perspex screens are not required to wear a facemask due to the enhanced protection provided by a screen.Close

We encourage all customers to wear facemasks, as per Government legislation. We also have supporting in-store POS to remind all customers of the Government legislation. As we are not a Government body, we do not have responsibility for enforcing this legislation.Close
Are you allowing elderly/vulnerable customers to shop at dedicated times in your stores?
Priority shopping hours for the elderly and those must vulnerable between 11am and 1pm daily, with all other shoppers encouraged to refrain from visiting stores during these times.Close

We support a range of charities doing fantastic work in the community during this time including the Irish Cancer Society, Our Hospital Heroes, FoodCloud, Age Action Ireland as well as a number of local organisations. Also, we recently started a new partnership with Barnardos with a commitment to raise €1 million to enable the charity to provide the 10,000 warm meals to children who attend its centres in addition to funding other key services.Close
Is there prioritised shopping hours for frontline staff?
All frontline staff providing essential services are allowed priority access to stores around the clock. Where store colleagues are limiting the number of customers in store, any frontline staff with a relevant form of ID will be allowed to enter the store as soon as social distancing guidelines permit. Priority access for frontline staff applies seven days a week, from 9am to 10pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 9pm Saturday and Sunday. Close

Phased Entry to Stores
A new traffic light entry system has been rolled out across 145 Aldi stores nationwide since June 15th. The system works by continuously counting the number of customers entering and exiting the store, showing a green light for capacity and a red light when capacity has been reached. Once the light goes red the doors to enter the store automatically close and will only re-open again when the next customer leaves the store. In line with Aldi’s previous commitments, priority access remains in place for frontline workers and older / vulnerable people, and these people are encouraged to go to the front of any queue, with all other customers asked to continue to respect this.Close
